Two Seat JF-17 Thunder / FC-1 Xiaolong Fighter Jet Trainer

Two Seat model of the Sino-Pak JF-17 Thunder / FC-1 Xiaolong fighter aircraft being readied for display at the Paris Air Show which will start tomarrow.

Two seater version will have fatter spine to accommodate the electronic equipment moved due to the additional cockpit space.

The two seater model of the JF-17 Thunder was carrying 2x PL-12/SD-10 Beyond visual range active radar-guided air-to-air missile (BVRAAM), 2x PL-5 E II Within Visual Range Air to Air Missiles (WVRAAM) for self defence purposes and two air to surface/anti-ship missiles for ground/maritime attack role.

Air to surface/anti-ship missile seems to be the Chinese C-802A Anti-ship Missile which can hit ground and martime targets from standoff distance of 180 km.

Indian Fighter Jets Violat Pakistani airspace

Two fighter jets of the Indian Air Force (IAF) violated Pakistani airspace for couple of mintues at about 10:40 am (0540 GMT) and crossed back into the Indian air space afther they were challenged by two fighter jets of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).

Spokesperson of the Pakistan Air Force, Captain Tariq Mehmood said, Indian jets intruded into Pakistani airspace by “three nautical miles” (5.5 kilometres) in the eastern province of Punjab

India has claimed that Indian fighter jets were "on a routine flying training sortie seem to have flown close to the border.”It says the planes appear to have committed “a technical violation."

Pak Army Starts Azm-i-Nau IV War Games

The Pakistan Army (PA) has started military exercise, Azm-i-Nau IV at the National Defence University to improve its readiness strategy for tackling the complex security threat environment faced by the Pakistan. 

Spokesperson of the Pakistan Army has said that “This Army War Game is the culmination of the series of such exercises and aims at validation and crystallisation of operational plans prepared in view of the emerging threat environment.” 

This exercise will include both the internal challenge from terrorists and the conventional threat of external aggression. This exercise will last two weeks and cover full spectrum of potential threats. Main objective of this drill is to assess the tactics, techniques and procedures of the Pakistan army for joint operations with Pakistan Navy and Air Force.

Army spokesperson has said, “Operational plans of Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy are also being finalised in close coordination with the Army.” Opening section of the Azm-i-Nau IV exercise was attended by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Khalid Shameem Wynne, Chief of Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt.
