Pakistani soldiers were able to foil an attack by over 300 Taliban militants on a security check post in the Kurram agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) of Pakistan.

This bloody clash has resulted in the death of around 43 which included eight Pakistani soldiers while 35 militants were also shot down by the security forces of Pakistan. It is reported that dozens of other were injured. 

Nine rockets were fired at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul earlier today by the militants from the near by hills which damaged the boundary wall of the academy.

The commissioner of Abbottabad, Khalid Khan Umarzai has said, “Some exploded, some did not. There was no loss of life".

The Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Limited (KSEW) has started the production of two Tugs for the Pakistan Navy (PN).

Russia has handed over the Project 971 Akula II class, "К-152 Nerpa" nuclear-powered attack submarine to the Indian Navy (IN) on a ten year lease at a cost of over USD 900 million at the Russian port of Vladivostok.

The "К-152 Nerpa" nuclear-powered attack submarine will become first operational nuclear submarine to be operated by Indian Navy in last two decades.

Indian Navy had operated Charlie class nuclear powered cruise missile submarine under lease from the Soviet Navy between 1988 and 1991 which helped Indian in the development of the Arihant (Slayer of Enemies) nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine.

The design of the Indian Arihant nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine is based on the Russian Charlie class nuclear powered cruise missile submarine and it can can carry up to twelve K-15 Sagarika submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) with range of 750 kilometers.

The К-152 Nerpa nuclear-powered attack submarine will be renamed by the Indian Navy as Charlie II nuclear submarine. The Charlie II nuclear-powered attack submarine was scheduled to be handed over to  IN in 2009 but accident in the Sea of Japan in November 2008 resulted in the death of twenty sailors on board during its trials which delayed the delivery.

The US Investigation Report is structured around the argument of “self defence” and “proportional use of force”, an argument which is contrary to facts. Continued engagement by US / ISAF despite being informed about the incident at multiple levels by Pakistan Military within minutes of initiation of US / ISAF fire, belies the “self defence” and “proportional use of force” contention. Affixing partial responsibility of the incident on Pakistan is therefore, unjustified and unacceptable.

Pak Aviation-1 Contingent comprising three Puma helicopters arrived at KAVUMU Air Terminal, Bukavu, Congo. The helicopters had initially arrived in Entebbe, Uganda and after necessary fitments and test flights they flew to KAVUMU in South Kivu Brigade (SKB) Area of responsibility. Remaining strength of the contingent is expected to arrive within this month.

Pakistan Air Force's Squadron Leader Masood Hussain was on posted in Turkey as part of the experience exchange program with the Turkish Air Force.

The fighter pilots of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Turkish Air Force are missing after their T-37 fighter jet trainer crashed in sea in Turkey. The T-37 fighter jet trainer was on a training mission when it crashed in the Aegean Sea, near the Turkish Air Base.

The spokesperson of the Pakistan Air Force has confirmed that Squadron leader Masood Hussain took off from Turkish Air Base in a training mission when it crashed into the sea.

The PNS Babur frigate of the Pakistan Navy (PN) will reach at Saudi Arabian port of Jubail on 15th February. Pakistani frigate PNS Babur's visit to Saudi Arabia is part of efforts by both countries to further enhance the the ties between the navies of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The PNS Babur is an Ex-Type 21 frigate which was decommissioned by the Royal Navy (RN) and was sold to PN on 30 September 1993. The Pakistan Navy has upgraded the  PNS Babur by equipping it with the Chinese LY-60 surface to air missiles.

The commander of the Pakistan Navy will meet with the officials of the Royal Saudi Navy to discuss matters of mutual interest.

The PNS Khaibar frigate of the Pakistan Navy has reached the Dubai's Port Rashid. The PNS Khaibar is currently patrolling the Indian Ocean as part of the Pakistan Navy's commitment to the anti-piracy operations in the area.
