General Kayani Witnesses Training Activities of Army Air Defence Units

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Muzaffargarh Ranges, today, to witness ongoing training activities of Army Air Defence units. The day’s activities involved live firing of several air defence weapons on the inventory of Pakistan Army. These included short range Surface to Air Missiles, shoulder fired weapons and Anti Aircraft guns.

India has successfully destroyed an incoming modified Prithvi ballistic missile by using Advanced Air Defence (AAD) interceptor missile which was launched from Wheeler Islands.

Man-Portable Air-Defense Systems And Radars Will Be Deployed Along Pak-Afghan Border

The Pakistan army has been ordered to improve its air defence systems along the Pak-Afghan. Pakistan army is deploying shoulder-fired, man-portable surface-to-air missiles and radars to detect the ISAF/NATO helicopters and fighter jets from long distances.

In his meeting with the Chief of the Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani informed the army chief about the decision of the federal government that Pakistan should retaliate if such an attack happens again.
