India To Upgrade Its Mirages To Mirage 2000-5 Mark 2 Standard
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has sent 2 of its Dassault Mirage 2000H/THs Vajra fighter jets to France for upgrading them to the Mirage 2000-5 Mark 2 standard. India has signed a deal to upgrade all 51 Mirage-2000H fighter jets at cost of USD 2.4 billion.
Under agreement, remaining 49 Mirages will be upgraded by the Indian aerospace giant, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Upgradation package includes RDY multi-mode pulse Doppler radar, new glass cockpit, helmet-mounted displays, electronic warfare suite and advanced Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system.
