Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has inaugurated Pakistan’s 1st high tech Ground Station for the Communication Satellite Paksat-1R. The satellite Paksat-1R will serve Pakistani needs for next fifteen years. Another similar Ground station will also be up in Karachi.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited Armoured Corps Centre Nowshera today.

His visit was in the backdrop of Armoured Corps Commanding Officers’ Conference. The conference is a formal event aimed at improving the regimental and professional aspects within armoured units.

Latest CIA drone strike has resulkted in the death of a Pakistani teenager who has recently participated in the anti-drone attack rally.  against US drone strikes, was killed in an attack by the CIA-operated spy planes in North Waziristan tribal region, a campaigner against the missile strikes said today.

Sixteen-year-old Muhammad Tariq was killed in a missile attack by CIA operated drone in the North Waziristan tribal region.

He had recently protested against such drone strikes along with other tribesmen in the Islambad last Friday. Anti-drone protest was launched to show anger over the high number of civilian deaths in these strikes. Hundreds of tribesmen participated in the rally to protest over illegal murders of their love ones.
