Army Chief General Kayani Leaves For China To Discuss Defence Ties

Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani is in China on a five day visit to discuss the bilateral defence ties and regional situation with the Chinese leadership.

His visit comes at a crucial time when defense ties between Pakistan and United States hit the all time low after Pakistan rejected the US findings about the NATO attack on Pakistani soldiers.

During his visit he will also discuss the cooperation between the  People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Pakistani Northern Light Infantry (NLI) on joint border patrolling to stop any kind illegal immigrants from crossing the Gilgit-Baltistan-Xinjiang border.

Iranian Attacks On Pakistanis Continues

Iranian government has shut its border point siding with the Balochistan province of Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistani border security force has detained 3 Iranian border guards for allegedly crossing the into the Pakistan, opening fire on a vehicle which was three km inside Pakistan and killing a passenger on board.

Speaking on the occasion, COAS appreciated the commendable role played by Army Aviation in security operations as well as relief and rescue tasks in disasters.

Pakistan Army's T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBT) In Cholistan Desert

The T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBT) of the Pakistan Army in the Cholistan desert during a winter military exercises. 
Pakistan army has purchased 320 Ukrainian T-80UD main battle tanks in a deal worth $650 million.


The T-80UD Main Battle Tanks (MBT) are armed with  a 125mm gun, 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun.
